Article ব্যবহার এর নিয়ম

 

Article “A/An”- এর ব্যবহার
Rule-1:সাধারনত শব্দের শুরুতে Consonant (b,c,d…..z)থাকলে তার পূর্বে Article ‘a’ বসে। যেমন: i. I have a pen.
Rule-2:সাধারনত শব্দের শুরুতে Vowel(a,e,i,o,u) থাকলে তার পূর্বে Article ‘an’ বসে। যেমন: i. The ule-3: “To be” verb এর পর সাধারণত Article ‘a’/ ‘an’ বসে। যেমন: i. Tumpa is a student. ii. It is an umbrella.
Rule-4:তুলনা অর্থে Proper noun যদি Common noun রূপে ব্যবহৃত হয় তাহলে তার পূর্বে Article ‘a’/ ‘an’ বসে। যেমন: i. You are a Shakespeare, I see ii. game has come to an end.
RYou will be a Fazlul Haque,I think iii. Joy will be able to become an Imran khan.
Rule-5:কোন Word- এর শুরুতে Consonant ‘h’ থাকলে এবং উচ্চারণ যদি ‘হ’ এর মত হয় তাহলে তার পূর্বে Article ‘a’ বসে। যেমন: a+hand/horse/hobby/hare/handicraft/hall/herd/ and parcel of hammer/hotel/historian ইত্যাদি।
i. It is a hall of resident. ii. It is a herd of cattle/sheep/elephants.
Rule-6: কোন Word- এর শুরুতে Consonant ‘h’ থাকলে এবং উচ্চারণ যদি ‘অ/আ/এ’ এর মত হয় তাহলে তার পূর্বে Article ‘an’ বসে। যেমন: an+honest/houours/honorable/honorary/hour/heir+N. i. Sabbir is an honest person.
Rule-7: a+hundred/thousand/million+N(pl). যেমন: i. He wants to live for a hundred year. ii. It will cost about a hundred pounds. iii. I have saved a thousand pounds.
Rule-8: a/an+pleasure/delight/achievement/danger/joy/attraction/failure(আনন্দদায়ক/বিপদজনক বস্তু/ব্যক্তি). যেমন:
i. He is a denger(সে বিপদজনক ব্যক্তি). ii. Fatulla is a danger(ফতুল্লা বিপদজনক স্থান). iii. Sonargaon is a joy(সোনারগাঁও আনন্দদায়ক স্থান).
Rule-9: কোন Word- এর শুরুতে Vowel ‘O’ থাকলেও উচ্চারণ যদি ‘ওয়া’ এর মত হয় তাহলে তার পূর্বে Article ‘a’ বসে। যেমন: a+one-eyed/one-leged/one-taka/once famous/one-act+N
Rule-10: কোন Word- এর শুরুতে Vowel ‘e/Eu/u’ থাকলেও উচ্চারণ যদি ‘ইউ’ এর মত হয় তাহলে তার পূর্বে Article ‘a’ বসে। যেমন: a+united/university/utensil/unit/useful/union/unique/ewe/European/usurer+N
Rule-11: a/an+adj+N(Adjective এর পর Singular noun থাকলে সেই Adjective এর পূর্বে Article ‘a/an’ বসে)। যেমন:
i. He is a good boy. ii. Mitu is an intelligent girl.
Rule-12: a/an+student/idiot. (যা passage-এ প্রথম বার উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে)। যেমন: i. Rachana is a student. ii. There was an idiot.
Rule-13: কিছু phrase-এ Article ‘a/an’ বসে। যেমন: a lot of/a number of/an amount of/a great deal of/after a while/a group of/a leaf of/a cup of/ a basket of/a glass of+N. i. Mr. Shamim has a lot of money.
Rule-14:বাক্যে so/too থাকলে adj. ও noun এর মাঝে Article ‘a/an’ বসে। যেমন: i. He is so brilliant a student. ii.It is too interesting a matter. iii. It is so fine an umbrella.
Rule-15: such/rather/quite/many+a/an+N. যেমন: i. Such a boy does wellin the exam. ii. She is rather a darling. iii. It is quite a nuisance to write to everyone. iv. Many a person is present in the public meeting.
Rule-16: রান্নাকৃত খাবার (breakfast/luncheon/dinner/supper) এর পূর্বে Adjective থাকলে Article ‘a/an’ বসে। যেমন:
i. They have a good breakfast. ii. We had an ordinary lunch.
Rule-17: Abbreviation(শব্দ সংক্ষেপ)-এর প্রথম অক্ষর এর উচ্চারণ Consonant এর মত হলে তার পূর্বে Article ‘a’ বসে। যেমন: a+B.A/B.Sc/B.B.A/B.Com/C.A/D.C/D.Lit/D.G/Ph.D/P.G(Post Graduate)/P.C(Police Constable)/P.S(Police Station)ইত্যাদি।
Rule-18: Abbreviation(শব্দ সংক্ষেপ)-এর প্রথম অক্ষর এর উচ্চারণ Vowel এর মত হলে তার পূর্বে Article ‘an’ বসে। যেমন: an+SSC/I.A/I.Sc/I.Com/M.A/M.Sc/M.Com/F.R.C.S/LL.B/L.M.F/A.D.C/M.D/M.P/M.B.B.S/S.B/S.P .
Rule-19: ঋতুর আগে Article ‘a/an’ বসে যদি Proverb হয়। যেমন: i. One swallow does not make a summer.
Article “The”- এর ব্যবহার
Rule-1: Singular Common Noun (একই ধরনের অনেক গুলো জিনিসের অস্তিত্ব থাকলে) এর পূর্বে সাধারণত Article ‘The’ বসে। তবে ‘a/an’ ও বসানো যায়। যেমন: i. The dog is a faithful animal. ii. A dog is a faithful animal. iii. The ant is an industrious insect. iv. An ant is an industrious insect.
Rule-2:নির্দিষ্ট Countable/Uncountable Noun-এর পূর্বে Article ‘The’ বসে। যেমন: i. The boy is ill. ii. The water of this glass is clean. iii. The girl are intelligent. iv. The book is interesting.
Rule-3: Passage -এ কোন noun দ্বিতীয় বার ব্যবহার করলে Article ‘The’ বসে। যেমন: i. There is a student in our class. The student is polite. ii. I have an umbrella. The umbrella look nice.
Rule-4: The+Noun+of+Noun. যেমন: i. The pen of Rafsan is fine. ii. The umbrella of Maharun is beautiful.
Rule-5:The+N+who/which/where/that/when+V….V…… যেমন: i. The boy who came here is my brother. ii. The pen whichwas bought yesterday looks nice. iii. I know the place where he lives. iv. I know the time when he comes home.
Rule-6: The +Adj.(পুরো শ্রেণী বা গোষ্ঠী বুঝাতে Adjective এর পূর্বে Article ‘the’ বসে)। যেমন: i. The poor are born to suffer. ii. The rich are not always happy. iii. The blind should be helped. iv. The unfed should be fed.
v. The pious are happy. vi. The idle/lazy do not succeed in life. vii. The wise are respected everywhere.
viii. The brave deserve the fair. ix. The bald are hated. x. The honest prosper in life.
Rule-7: The+16th December(তারিখের পূর্বে Article ‘the’ বসে)। যেমন: i. Tabassum will come home on the 10th March.
Rule-8: go+to+the+school/college/hospital/market/mosque/jail(পরিদর্শন করা বুঝালে)। যেমন: i. Nipu went to the school to meet the Headmaster.
Rule-9: The+North/South/East/West(দিকের নামের পূর্বে Article ‘the’ বসে)। যেমন: i. The sun rises in the east.
Rule-10: The+Padma/Meghna/Jamuna/Tames/Buriganga/Bay of Bangal/Pacific/North Atlantic(নদী/মহাসাগর-এর নামের পূর্বে Article ‘the’ বসে)। যেমন: i. The Padma is the biggest river. ii. The Pacific is the deepest ocean.
Rule-11: The+Quaran/Bible/Gita/Tripitak(ধর্ম গ্রন্থের নামের পূর্বে Article ‘the’ বসে)। যেমন: i. The Quaran is a religious book.
Rule-12:The+summer/rainy season/autumn/late autumn/winter/spring(ঋতুর নামের পূর্বে Article ‘the’ বসে)। যেমন: i. It rains in the rainy season.
Rule-13: The+sun/moon/sky/earth/world(অদ্বিতীয় বুঝালে)। যেমন: i. The sun sets in the east.
Rule-14:কোন নির্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তির গুণ বুঝালে Abstract Noun এর পূর্বে Article ‘the’ বসে। যেমন: i. The kindness of Mohsin is known to all. ii. The honesty of Abdul Quder Zilani is known to all. iii. We should be greateful for the mercy of Allah. iv. The greatness of Hazrat Muhammad(sm:)is universal. v. I know the cruelty of the man. vi. The poverty of Nazrul is known to all. 
Rule-15:The+D3 (Superlative degree-এর পূর্বে Article ‘the’ বসে)। যেমন: i. Fuad is the tallest boy in our class.
Rule-16:The+D2 (দুইয়ের মাঝে ভাল বা মন্দ বুঝাতে Comparative degree-এর পূর্বে Article ‘the’ বসে)। যেমন: i. Of the two girls, Issa is the more beautiful. ii. Of the two things,buy the less costly.
Rule-17:রাস্তার নামের সাথে Road থাকলে Article ‘the’ বসে। যেমন: i. He lives in the Jalal Ahmed Road. ii. The Nawabpur Road is very busy.
Rule-18:The+USA/UK/UNO/UNESCO/Punjab/Tajmahal/French Revolution(ফরাসী বিপ্লব)/Sepoy Munity(সিপাহী বিদ্রোহ)/Liberation War(মুক্তিযুদ্ধ)(অর্থযুক্ত দেশ/ অর্থযুক্ত স্থান/প্রসিদ্ধ প্রাসাদ/ঐতিহাসিক ঘটনা বুঝালে Article ‘the’ বসে)।
Rule-19:জাতি বুঝাতে ভাষার নামের পূর্বে Article ‘the’ বসে। যেমন: i. He knows English like the English.
Rule-20:ভিন্ন ব্যক্তি বুঝালে দ্বিতীয় Noun এর পূর্বে Article ‘the’ বসে। যেমন: i. The Headmaster and the secretary are nice men.
Rule-21:play+the+piano/guitar. (বাদ্য যন্ত্র বুঝালে)
Rule-22:The Titanic sailed for New York.(জাহাজের নাম বুঝালে)
Rule-23:The sooner, the better.(যত তত বুঝাতে the+D2, the D2 হয়।)
Rule-24:in + the+morning/noon/after noon/evening/min night/dead night. যেমন: i. He begins his work in the morning.
Rule-25:first,second,third,fourth ইত্যাদি Ordinal Number-এর পূর্বে Article ‘the’ বসে। যেমন: i. Geroge the sixth was the king of England.
Rule-26:সংবাদপত্র/প্রসিদ্ধ গ্রন্থ/সাময়িকী-এর পূর্বে Article ‘the’ বসে। যেমন: i. The Ittefaq is a daily. ii. The Shahanama is a famous book. iii. The Diganta is a monthly. 
Rule-27:The+bar/amry/press(বৃত্তি বা পেশা বুঝাতে Article ‘the’ বসে)। যেমন: i. I shall join the bar. ii.He has joined the army. 
Rule-28:একই গুন বিশিষ্ট দুই ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর মধ্যে তুলনা বুঝালে Article ‘the’ বসে। যেমন: i. AK Fazlul Haque was the Burke of Bangladesh. ii. Nazrul is the Byron od Bangladesh. iii. Narayanganj is the Dundee od Bangladesh. 
iv. Dhaka is the London of Bangladesh .
Rule-29:by/in/on+the+hand/belly/ear/hair/leg/neck/horn/face/nose. যেমন: i. I took the bull by the horn. ii. The brick hit Shamim in the head. iii. Who hit you on the head?
Rule-30:Common Noun যদি Abstract Noun হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয় তাহলে Article ‘the’ বসে। যেমন: i. The mother in her rose at the sad sight. ii.Everyday should acheck the beast in him.
Rule-31:ভাষার নামের পরে language থাকলে Article ‘the’ বসে। যেমন: i. The English language is a very rich language.
Rule-32:সমগ্র বস্তুর অংশ বিশেষ বুঝাতে Adj. যখন Noun হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয় তখন Article ‘the’ বসে। যেমন: i. I like the yellow of the egg.
Rule-33:All/Both+the+N(pl).যেমন: i. All eight students in the class passed the exam. ii. Both the children are good at maths. iii. You took the both part.
Article “X”- এর ব্যবহার
Rule-1:Proper Noun(কোন কিছুর নাম,একক অস্তিত্ব এবং প্রথম অক্ষর Capital Letter হয়) এর পূর্বে Article ‘x’ বসে। যেমন: i. Elder Brother reads in x Dhaka University.
Rule-2:go+to+x+school/college/Madrasha/hospital/mosque/jail(প্রাথমিক উদ্দেশ্য বুঝালে)।যেমন: i. Maharun goes to x school daily.
Rule-3:move/go/travel+by+bus/train/air/boat/lunch. ।যেমন: i. We went to Dhaka by x train.
Rule-4:X+Uncountable/Abstract Noun. যেমন: i. X water has no colour. ii. X kindness is a great virtue. iii. X water is made of hydrogen and oxygen. iv. X milk is a nutrious food. v. X oil floats on water. vi. X truthfulness is the greatest of all virtues in a man.
Rule-5:Countable Noun যদি plural হয় তাহলে Article ‘x’ বসে। যেমন: i. X cows are useful animals. ii. X students are the future hope of a nation. iii. X ants are industrial animals. iv. X dogs are faithful animals. v. X tigers are ferocious animals.
Rule-6:Adjective এর পর Article ‘x’ বসে।যদি পরে Noun না থাকে। যেমন: i. The boy is regula x. ii. The girl was honest x. 
Rule-7:Adj. ও Noun এর মাঝে Article ‘x’ বসে। যেমন: i. He is a good x boy. ii. Mimi is a x girl. iii. Joy was a noble x person.
Rule-8:Possessive adj.(my/our/your/his/her/their/its/on)+x+N. যেমন: i. His x pen is nice.ii. This is our x school. iii. He has no x pen.
Rule-9:Noun in apposition-এ Article ‘x’ বসে। যেমন: i. Mr.Shakil,x Headmaster of pura school is high educated.
Rule-10:সাধারণত:রান্নাকৃত খাবার(meals) (breakfast/luncheon/dinner/supper) এর পূর্বে Article ‘x’ বসে। যেমন:
i. We have x supper at 10pm. ii. Usually I take x Breakfast at 8am.
Rule-11: রাস্তার নামের সাথে Road না থাকলে Article ‘x’ বসে। যেমন: i. I drove through x park street and x Bangabandhu Avenue. 
Rule-12:x+music/poetry/art. যেমন: i. Tumpa loves x music.
Rule-13:x+television/radio. যেমন: i. X Television is an easy means of entertainment. ii.Whats on x TV tonight.
Rule-14:x+chess/football/cricket(খেলা)। যেমন: i. The boys are playing x football.
Rule-15:x+cold/fever/diarrhea/malaria/cholera/toothache/back-ache/stomach-ache(রোগ বুঝালে)। যেমন: i. X tooth-ache is horrible. ii.He is suffering from x cold. iii. Many people suffer from x diarrhea. iv. She has got x toothache.
Rule-16:at+x+morning/noon/afternoon/evening/midnight/deadnight. যেমন: i. He comes back at x evening.
Rule-17:একই ব্যক্তি বুঝালে দ্বিতীয় Noun এর আগে Article ‘x’ বসে। যেমন: i. The Headmaster and x secretary is a sincere person.
Rule-18:পুরুষ ও নারী জাতি বুঝালে Article ‘x’ বসে। যেমন: i. X man is mortal. ii. X women is fond of flowers. 
Rule-19:একটি মাত্র দ্বীপ,পর্বত বা হ্রদ বুঝালে Article ‘x’ বসে। যেমন: i. X Srilankais an island. ii. X Mount Everest is the highest peak in the world. iii. X Caspian is the largest lake in the world.
Rule-20:ভাষার নামের পূর্বে Article ‘x’ বসে। যেমন: i. X Bangla is our mother tongue. ii. X English is an international language.
Rule-21:বার বা মাসের নামের পূর্বে Article ‘x’ বসে। যেমন: i. He saw me on x Monday. ii. X February is second month of English year. 
Rule-22:All/Both+x+N(pl).যেমন: i. All x eight students in the class passed the exam. ii. Both x children are good at maths.
Rule-23:ঋতুর নামের পূর্বে Article ‘x’ বসে)। যেমন: i. It rains in x rainy season.
Rule-24:Cross(x) article is used in ‘positions’ . যেমন: i. Elizabeth x Queen of England is known to all. ii. They elected George x chairmen. iii. Henry was made x captain of them. iv.He was elected x president for the third time. v. Mr.Fuad was appointed x chief clerk in 2011.
Rule-25:part & percel+of+N(pl). যেমন: i. Keeping the accounts is x part my job.
